At the NLA we believe that taking a professional approach to running your lettings, whether property is your primary business or an investment to supplement your income, is the best possible means of ensuring your business is a profitable enterprise. We also believe that a well run letting portfolio is something in which you can take justified pride.
Over the next few months, as part of our essential support to private landlords, the ‘Professional Practice For Profit In The Private-Rented Sector’ campaign will demonstrate that the best route to consistent profits is a professional approach. As well as empowering you to operate your lettings as a business, the campaign will also help us to gain the recognition we deserve for the vital role that landlords fulfil by providing homes for a growing proportion of the population and the contribution which their activity, spending and taxes make to the UK's economy.

Rent 'good value for money', say tenants
The majority of tenants say their rent provides good value for money, according to the National Landlords Association’s latest research findings*.
More than seven in 10 tenants (73 per cent) rated their rent as ‘good’ or ‘very good’ when asked their opinion on whether it represented value for money. One in five (20 per cent) perceived their rent as ‘poor’ value, while just three per cent rated it as ‘very poor’.
