NLA Accreditation

To become an NLA accredited Landlord you need to complete the foundation course either here on the Library or via a one day attendance course. To find out where and when the foundation course is being hosted visit the events area of our website.

As a member of the NLA you can complete the foundation course on the NLA Library for FREE (as an NLA Associate you will need to upgrade) by completing all of the CORE subjects (marked with a red "c"). To access the subjects visit the Landlord Library Subjects.

However you complete the foundation course you are then required to adhere to the scheme rules which require that you keep your professional development (CPD) up to date.

You can also passport into the NLA accreditation scheme if you print off, read and sign the scheme rules (download here). By signing this document you are agreeing to keep your professional development (CPD) up to date . The form can then be scanned & e-mailed back to or mailed to us at NLA Accreditation, 2nd Floor, Skyline House, 200 Union Street, London SE1 0LX.

To passport to the NLA accreditation scheme you must be at least a fully paid Individual Member.

What is Continued Professional Development (CPD)?

We all expect the people we deal with in any profession to be competent in what they do for us. CPD is the method used by many professionals to ensure that their knowledge and skills remain relevant as needs and environments develop. NLA Accredited landlords are also required to complete 10 hours per year of CPD over a 12 month anniversary period.

CPD can be undertaken directly here on the online library by working through individual subjects. Upon successful completion of the end of course quiz, your own CPD profile is automatically credited . You can also manually add any attendance at NLA branch meetings, local authority forums, conferences, courses to your CPD profile, so that all your CPD is conveniently held in one location. Dont forget you can also claim CPD for reading journals and we now award 2 hours for reading our own magazine UK Landlord
