HartlandWatkins is a leading U.K. housing law firm based in Wales; it has a dedicated team of Solicitors, Legal Executives and Paralegals specifically trained in resolving Landlord and Tenant disputes.

The firm has 2 offices, one office is situated in the vibrant Commercial City centre of Cardiff; the other office is based in Blackwood, a town which is now enjoying a vast amount of Welsh Assembly funding making it one of the fastest growing towns in Wales.  A third office is to be opened shortly.

HartlandWatkins has been accredited with the Law Society Award for continued Excellence for the past 3 years in succession (one of a very limited number of Law Firms in the UK so accredited), therefore Clients can be reassured of the best possible quality of service.  This is evidenced by the fact that 80% of instructions received from clients are either from returning clients or we have been recommended by them.

The Firm believes in specialising in one area of law giving a complete 'one stop' service, we believe that only by specialising can you truly provide the best service to the Clients at the lowest available fees; at HartlandWatkins we specialise in all areas of Landlord and Tenant residential disputes, unlike some other firms the service is complete, we have a specialist buy to let conveyancing department, a dispute resolution department dealing specifically in Landlord and Tenant issues, a repossession department, a dedicated debt enforcement department and a contracts department that can advise on disputes with builders and contractors.

Our experience is vast; for 6 years the Partner, Catherine Hartland operated the extremely successful ‘Legal Advice Service Limited’ throughout South Wales, this was a pro bono scheme run in conjunction with Local Authorities, Housing Charities and general advice agencies.  The scheme was so successful that the service was over subscribed and we successfully advised thousands of Tenants on how to make claims against Landlords and Agents.  All that vast experience in now used to benefit Landlords and Agents.  The service was scaled down in 2003 due to the service becoming unsustainable to that degree.

Catherine Hartland has been an active Committee Member of 2 of Wales’ Largest Registered Social Landlords, but due to pressure of work asked for leave from committee meetings.  Catherine trains Housing Associations, large Property Management firms and Landlords throughout Wales, not least the dedicated team of Solicitors and staff that the firm employs to give their Clients the best possible advice and assistance.  You can be sure that as we train others, we are fully up to date on the ever changing developments in housing law.
